The Star Spangle banner

A capella in general, from Pentatonix, Straight no Chasers, and yes, even the Pitch Perfect groups. The sound of hearing the harmony on top of melody. I love listening to the minor chords on top of major. It’s very interesting, so the Star Spangle Banner by the South city Voices I prefer better. On the other hand, the Gottscalk piano version is very calming and very relaxing. Him going up and down the scale is very appealing to the ear while having a fantastic melody. The talent to keep the right melody and notes is incredible and a lot of talent.

The Jimi Hendrix version is a really different take on the Star Spangle Banner, and back then, I can see why it’s offensive. On the other hand, in todays society it’s more accepting because of the change in our country. When I heard it for the first time, it caught me off guard, but I was thinking about how he has pride for our country, but wanted to do what he loves. I support him doing what he loves and having pride for the country. It was offensive back in the day because back then, people don’t like change, and people changing something symbolic. Everyone respects veterans, and people thought that since this is an electric guitar (Which came from the Devil) they thought it was disrespecting our great nation. It happened in the church history as well, so it was surely the society.

exploring music

The star spangle banner is a song/ piece I listened to for a very long time. I really believe it’s an important piece in the United States history. The star spangle banner is very important because I always think of the freedom we have in America. America is an amazing place to live, and I have a bunch respect for America and the country. I learned the piece in music class but also play it in band. I know how to play it on the trumpet. I love the piece and its kinda simple. At least in band, the star spangle banner is very fun to play before football, basketball, or volleyball. The only problem is the song does get kinda annoying. The star spangle banner is a simple piece that has a lot of skips, but it steps down. So this is my opinion about the star spangle banner.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
